An 82-year-old woman has been rushed to hospital after a serious collision involving a car in Ayrshire.
The pensioner is receiving treatment following the crash on the A77 at Vicarton Street in Girvan on Monday morning.
The driver of the car was uninjured.
Police have launched an appeal for information after the crash involving a black Citroen C4 and the pedestrian around 10.45am.
Motorists have been asked to check their dash-cam footage from the time if they were in the area.
Sergeant Chris Hoggans, from the Ayrshire road policing unit, said: “An elderly woman sustained serious injuries as a result of this crash and I am appealing for anyone witnesses who have not yet spoken to officers to get in touch.
“I would also urge anyone with dashcam footage that could assist our investigation to contact police.
“Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 1092 of 6 June.”
