The United States has confirmed 4,410 measles cases so far in 2026, after 330 new cases were added in a single week, according to the latest CDC measles update. The count reflects confirmed cases reported to the CDC as of Oct. 15 and was published Oct. 16. It is up 8.1% from 4,080 cases a week earlier and is already the highest yearly total since 1991.
Hospitalizations have reached 451 this year, the CDC said, according to Reuters reporting on the update. That means about one in 10 confirmed patients needed hospital care, either for complications or for isolation.
