Woman, 60s, killed when hit by van in Donegal had just retired from her job - gardaí still appealing for witnesses

A pedestrian killed when she was struck by a van in Co Donegal last night was a well-known local woman who had recently retired from her job.

She was named locally as Eileen Kennedy, a popular married lady who was in her 60s and who had retired last summer.

The coastal town of Killybegs where the tragedy occurred is coming to terms with the tragedy today.
