With Tom Brady’s return, odds-makers think the Buccaneers are primed for a Super Bowl 57 run

The great ones can’t stay away for too long. Eventually, that itch, that competitive spirit, that sheer boredom at home: They all push you to get up off the couch and get back into the game.

A little over a month after announcing his retirement, Tom Brady is strapping up the shoulder pads again. It’s Round 3 in Tampa Bay, folks.

The Buccaneers, with Brady back, do have a lot of work to do. But any team with the arguable greatest quarterback of all time will be considered a significant factor in the postseason picture. Tipico Sportsbook agrees and clearly believes in the Brady Effect.

The 45-year-old’s comeback gives the Buccaneers +750 odds to win next February’s Super Bowl 57. That ties them with the Chiefs for second-best in the entire NFL, second only to the Bills (+700). Yes, my jaw is also agape.

Look, I do not doubt that Tampa Bay will be a good team next year. Not to mention that the NFC is unspeakably shallow overall. But there’s been a lot of roster turnover in Western Florida, especially on the offensive line. Those title figures are a little much to me at first glance. This iteration of the Buccaneers is not the same juggernaut team that won Super Bowl 55 in a laugher over Kansas City. Then again, it’s not as if Brady hasn’t lived up to the hype before. We’ll have to see how they fill in the gaps in due time.

Tom Brady is back, and so are the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl hopes.
