Winter has arrived in the German state of Hesse with temperatures below zero causing the forests of Feldberg to glitter with snow.
Drone footage showed hikers braving the cold for a walk through the Taunus mountains on Friday.
The early cold spell comes as much of Germany experiences a sharp drop in temperatures, with forecasters warning of further snowfall across central Europe.
Authorities have urged drivers to remain cautious, as heavy frost and scattered snow showers are expected to continue through the weekend.
