Stewards come to the aid of a spectator on centre court during the men’s singles semi-final between Taylor Fritz and Carlos Alcaraz at Wimbledon (Mike Egerton/PA) - (PA Wire)

A Wimbledon semi-final was stopped twice in less than five minutes because of medical emergencies in the crowd amid sweltering sunny conditions on Centre Court.

During the second set on Friday between defending men’s singles champion Carlos Alcaraz and Taylor Fritz, play was briefly stopped after a fan sitting in the sun at the front of a stand required medical attention.
