Jabeur, last year’s finalist, said: “I have got to thank the rain a little bit for letting me speak to my coach! I felt I didn’t play my best tennis. I wanted t be more aggressive but I am playing against a grand slam champion. She made the mission tougher today. I am very emotional coming back here after a great final last year. It’s one of, if not my favourite court. I also love the crowd, the energy, how beautiful it is. It was a little frustrating, her drop shots and slices were kind of annoying! You have to do what you can do. Billie [Jean King] is watching and I was going to ask her and say ‘what should I do?’. I think I’m sleeping on the couch tonight, I looked at him [her husband] during the game and I think he wasn’t happy with it!”
Jabeur looks up to the sky, or roof, and screams. A huge win! Andreescu is straight off court but waves to the crowd as she goes. She also signs some things for some young fans.

Jabeur fights back to win 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 against Andreescu
Jabeur has done it, what a comeback performance! The first point goes to Jabeur and she just needs three more to go into the second week at Wimbledon. The second point goes Andreescu’s way with Jabeur making an error, the tension is palpable! And again Jabeur makes an unforced error, Andreescu 30-15 up. An ace levels the game and Jabeur has match point as Andreescu pushes a shot too long. And an ace does it! Andreescu challenges the ball to delay celebration – it is in!

Andreescu’s backhand is called out, that would have been a call I would have challenged but the Canadian let’s it slide. Andreescu then hits the net with Jabeur 30-0 up. A drop shot sees Andreescu return but it is out, lovely play by Jabeur. The 2022 Wimbledon finalist hits the net to level it 15-15. Jabeur now challenges a call that was called out and it was a good decision, it is in! Jabeur hits the ball and it’s called out and it is upheld – she has no more challenges. A great forehand shot wins her the game.

After a 50 minute wait the game is back underway, Andreescu putting in two errors to give Jabeur a 30-0 lead. Jabeur then hits the net and her backhand has too much on it to level the game 30-30. The forehand is out for Jabeur and Andreescu has break point. We head to deuce after an Andreescu error. Jabeur thought she had an ace but it was called out, the call stood after a challenge. Andreescu gets the advantage and another break point but Jabeur saves it again. An ace this time gives Jabeur the advantage, can she see this out now? She does with a lovely splice on her backhand.

It seems Zverev is also not happy, I think both players are concerned about a slippery surface. Jabeur and Andreescu are due back out onto centre court at 8.10 but we will see.

Berrettini is not happy with the conditions on court 1 and so the officials are reviewing the situation. They are discussing with both players now.
There is no more play on the outside courts tonight so all of those games will be postponed. Court 1 and Centre continue.
The grounds people are still sorting out the grass on centre court, I think a lot of rain fell before the game was suspended. It seems a stupid decision to open the roof with the forecasts.

How long does it take to shut the roof? Google suggests 10 minutes but the game as been suspended for almost half an hour!
The clock ticks on but the play is still not underway. If I were on centre court I would be a bit miffed, Boulter is on afterwards and this could mean the fans don’t get to see that game conclude with Wimbledon stopping play around 10.30.
We are still waiting for play to resume, why did they open the roof after the Alcaraz match? Seems ludicrous.

The outside court matches have been suspended again because of the rain, England eh!
Yeah confirmation there that the centre court roof was open, why they decided to open it again is beyond me, but it has started to rain so they are going to close it here.
The BBC have decided to cut to Rune’s interview, there is a break in Jabeur and Andreescu’s match but seems a strange cut though I think they are closing centre court’s roof, he describe the match as one of his most favourite to play. “It’s a great moment for sure, I am so happy to be in the fourth round for the first time”.

What a match! Davidovich Fokina really took the game to Rune but in the end the Dane had enough to see out the match on tie break! Wow.
Dimitrov has taken the second set 6-3 against Tiafoe after winning the first. Rune is in a tie break with Davidovich Fokina in their fifth set.

Andreescu pushes the ball out as the second game of this final set begins. The ball just clips the net and rolls over to give Jabeur 30-0 and then the ball does the same but this time it lands in Andreescu’s favour! A long rally ends with an error from Jabeur and the game is 30-30 but she plays a good shot to be one point from closing out the game. and she does just that.

Jabeur wins the second set 6-3. She is serving for this set and starts it with a great hit and follows it up with a powerful forehand. Another great shot down the right gives her set point and she grabs it at the first chance.

Andreescu raced to a 30-0 lead and went 40-0 up after a long shot bounced in and Jabeur was unable to return it. An Andreescu error sees Jabeur get her first point of the game and another has Jabeur right back in this. We go to deuce as Andreescu hitting the net, if she loses this game it will be frustrating for her after having such a lead. Andreescu has advantage as Jabeur can’t return her serve but a double fault has us back to deuce. Keys has defeated Kostyuk in a dominant 6-4, 6-1 win on court 12. A very strong performance by the American.
Berrettini has won the first set against Zverev! He has taken a convincing 6-3 set, second set just underway.

A huge moment.

She starts well on her serve but Andreescu hits back. Tjhey go toe-to-toe again with 30-30, Jabeur is looking a little shaky here but she must hold to get a foothold. Jabeur’s shot clops the net and bounces over and some excellent close to net action from Andreescu sends it to deuce. Jabeur gets the advantage and sees it out well.
Jabeur* 3-6, 1-1 Andreescu (* denotes next server): Jabeur just can’t make any inroads into Andreescu’s serve, and the Canadian’s mixing it up beautifully, a dinked drop shot for 40-0 exemplifying her control and confidence. A rare double-fault ensues but a fierce backhand winner seals the hold.

An angled forehand winner from Jabeur saves it, and it’s followed by a rare Andreescu mistake, sending a gimme of a volley wide. And Jabeur goes on to secure a vital hold.

And she converts the first of them when Jabeur can only return a vicious forehand into the net. Andreescu takes the set, and is looking the likelier winner.

Jabeur 1-3 Andreescu* (* denotes next server): Some robust returning from Andreescu claws her back to 30-all and she earns the first break point of the match when Jabeur blooters a forehand long. Jabeur saves it with a firm volley at the net but Andreescu belts a brilliant double-handed backhand return to the corner to grab another, which she converts when Jabeur sloppily nets. Andreescu is looking confident here.
Out on Court 3 Helger Rune, the sixth seed, has dragged his match against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina to a fifth set, winning the fourth set 6-4.
Jabeur* 1-2 Andreescu (* denotes next server): This is Jabeur’s first appearance on Centre Court since last year’s defeat in the final but no signs of angst so far. An impossibly delicate sliced forehand winner that kisses the line for 15-15 is evidence of that. Andreescu can do forensice angled winners too though, such as her volley at the net for 30-30. She goes on to hold. This already looks a fascinating contest.

Another treat looms on Centre Court, because next up there is Ons Jabeur v Bianca Andreescu. Meanwhile, Aryna Sabalenka has won more comfortably than in the previous round, seeing off Anna Blinkova in straight sets.
Tsitsipas speaks: “I wasn’t hopeless,” he humble-brags, disarmingly. “Today was the first time this week I’ve made it easy for myself. I’ve had a few thrillers in the past few days – they say it took 14 days to build the arc and it feels like the last few days I’ve been doing that, playing every sinigle day. It’s never easy when there’s rain and it’s nice to come back here and feel the level of the crowd like I’ve not had before. The second set was importnat because if you don’t fight back and come abck with solutions it’s a very different game. I’m proud of myself, I wasn’t hopeless, my mindset was good. I felt the momentum switching with the tiebreak in the second set.
“The body for sure is not as fresh as it’s been – I’ve done a lot of running the last four days but once the adrenaline kicks in I forget about everything.”
Tsitsipas beats Djere 6-4, 7-6, 6-4
Thanks Sarah. Evening all, and this could be another long one. And first off let’s zip over to Court No 2, where Stefanos Tsitsipas has three match points against Lazlo Djere, and he converts the first of them with emphatic serve-volleying. He must be knackered after the past three days’ exertions but he’s looking in as good a shape as he ever has at Wimbledon.

Alcaraz said: “it has been tough, Nico is a really great player. He is playing really well. We played in Rio and it was tough, here as well. I am just really happy with the level I play to get through. Thank you very much. I stay focused, I knew I would have my chances. He was really close, he had great shots. I would say the key is to believe and stay focused all the time. I remember a lot of matches that I have watched here as a kid, I watched so many videos as well. I am really happy to play here, it is something I dreamed of since I was young. This court you feel something special. This is the most beautiful court I have played on.”

That was quite a match! To come back in that final set from being 3-0 down to take it 7-5 is incredible. Quite the young player.

Alcaraz has done it! What a match and an incredibly strong performance from Jarry pushes the top seed all the way. Four points stands between Alcaraz and the last 16 but it is Jarry who gets the first point. Alcaraz gets the first of four next and a fantastic lob sees him two points away. But Jarry is not out yet and wins the next point from Alcaraz’ error. And wow, how about that under pressure! A huge forehand gives Jarry break point. Jarry can’t return Alcaraz serve and we are at deuce. Alcaraz has advantage and has match point, can he sew it up? Yes he can!

Lehecka beats Paul in five-set epic
Jiri Lehecka has caused a little upset as he knocks out seeded Tommy Paul. He won the first two sets 6-2 7-6 (7-2) but Paul fought back to take the next two sets 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (11-9). Lehecka won the final set 6-2 to take the victory.

Alcaraz sinks to his knees as he challenges a call and it doesn’t go his way, if he didn’t go for that challenge he could have hit that back. WE’RE AT DEUCE AGAIN – Alcaraz has a masterful play at the net. Jarry now has the advantage, can he see this out? Yes he can, a huge roar as he holds!

The top seed goes two sets to one up! Jarry challenged a call saying Alcaraz’ serve was in but it was and then the Spaniard played a great ball to go 30-0 up. Jarry looks as though he could have an issue as he is taking a long time to walk back to set up. Alcaraz has a set point and surely he will take it? He doesn’t yet! A drop shot hits the net. Medvedev defeats Fucsovics 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4
Fucsovics started really well, taking a dominant first set but Medvedev hit back. Fucsovics was dealing with ankle issues in the fourth set and despite a good fight, saving a match point, he fell to defeat.

Two lovely drop shots sees Alcaraz 30-0 up but Jarry plays a nice forehand to get himself back in the game. Alcaraz makes an error to level it but Jarry has his own error to give the top seed the chance to hold. And an ace seals it.
Fucsovics has continued his match against Medvedev after calling a medical time-out. The fourth set 3-2 in Medvedev’s favour.

An unforced Jarry error starts this game but he takes the next point to level. Alcaraz challenges a call with Jarry’s shot called in but the decision is upheld. Jarry sends it out with the next point and it’s level once more. A great drop shot from Alcaraz gifts him break point – a huge moment. Jarry does well under pressure to hit a winner to take it to deuce but a cheap error gives Alcaraz the advantage and another break point. He can’t take it with a non-return and we’re back to deuce. Alcaraz has slipped trying to return a shot and silence engulfs the court as fans worry he can’t continue but he puts a thumbs up! He is okay but the slip gave Jarry the advantage. Jarry’s serve is called out but he challenges, it was out and we’re back to 40-40. Jarry gets advantage once again and sees it out.

Jarry has done it! He manages to outclass Alcaraz in the tiebreak. Here’s how it played out: A huge rally starts this tie break and Alcaraz pushes it out for Jarry to take the first point. An unreturnable serve from Alcaraz puts them 1-1. Alcaraz shouts in celebration with a powerful forehand making Jarry put in an unforced error – 2-1. And two aces puts Jarry 3-2 up. Alcaraz wins the next point to have this second set finely poised. Another unforced Jarry error has Alcaraz 4-3 up but the Spaniard makes two errors and Jarry is now 5-4 up. A lovely lob from Alcaraz levels the scoreboard again! This tie break is electric. And another great shot has him 6-4 up, set point. He can’t sew it up straight away with the score 6-6. Medvedev has taken the third set against Fucsovics 6-4. He is two sets to one up as he also won the second set 6-3 after losing the first 6-4.
Kvitova beats Kostic in straight sets
Two-time winner Kvitova came back from the rain delay meaning business! She has wrapped up her match against Kostic with a 6-3, 7-5 win. Kostic may feel hard done by with the delay, she had the momentum before the break.

We have new balls ahead of this game. A powerful serve starts this game, it would be huge if Alcaraz could level this set after almost going two breaks down. He quickly gets to 40-0, will he have a clean game? He will! A lovely drop shot ends the game.

Jarry pushes a shot out to give Alcaraz 15-0 but his backhand hits the net to level it. The Spaniard is shouting as his forehand hits the net, his frustration is clear – Jarry is putting him out of sorts. Jarry plays a great shot to be 40-15 but an unforced error gives Alcaraz a bit of hope here. Another error from Jarry sends it to deuce (again!). Jarry’s slice is called out and Alcaraz has break point but an non-return on the serve sees it back to 40-40. A phenomenal forehand shot from Jarry gives him advantage but he can’t follow it up and we’re back to deuce again! Alcaraz has break point once more and he takes it! A huge roar of celebration from the top seed.

Alcaraz has break point and the Spaniard thought he had it with an out call. Jarry challenged the call and it is in! The umpire is not replaying the point, to Alcaraz’ frustration, and se we head to deuce. Alcaraz gets break point again with Jarry hitting the net but this time Alcaraz hits the net and it’s deuce once more. Alcaraz can’t return and Jarry has advantage – this would be a huge moment if he can hold. And he does it!

A superb rally ends with a volley from Alcaraz going out. Alcaraz’ serve does him well for the next two points but Jarry then sends a good forehand down the line with Alcaraz’ return hitting the net – 30-30. Jarry gets another break point as he attacks from the net and a backhand puts him 40-30. He doesn’t take it as he pushes his shot out, deuce we go. Alcaraz gets advantage and he takes the game under pressure!

Jarry wins the point with a powerful forehand. Alcaraz then pushes it long to level it 30-30. An ace puts the Spaniard 40-30 up but we are at deuce once again. Jarry has break point with a poor hit from Alcaraz hitting the net. And he gets it! What a moment.

Alcaraz takes first set 6-3 against Jarry
Alcaraz takes the first set despite a strong Jarry performance. Alcaraz wins the first point as Jarry’s shot it out but then pushes his own shot and it’s 15-15. The Spaniard wins the next point with another out call but Jarry does really well to level it 30-30. But Alcaraz has set point as Jarry hits the net. This time he isn’t clinical and hits the net to send the game to deuce. Jarry screams in frustration with his forehand smacking the net but he works well to send it back to deuce – popping the ball away from Alcaraz. Jarry has composed himself under this pressure and gives himself break point! He doesn’t take it though with Alcaraz saving his serve and gets advantage once again. This is his third set point and this time he takes it!
Alcaraz is so clinical, that was his first break point and he seals it. He performs well under pressure.

Jarry’s serve is working wonders for him at the moment, Alcaraz is finding it difficult to return them. And just as I type that he has a double fault, always the way! He puts my point back on track with an ace though to put him 30-15 up. We finally have a rally between the pair and Alcaraz comes out on top with Jarry pushing the ball out. An incredible rally ends with Alcaraz making a fist in celebration – the longest rally of the match so far gives Alcaraz break point. And he breaks!

Delightful from Alcaraz, Jarry comes close to the net and makes a great volley but Alcaraz goes for the lob and Jarry can’t get to it. The Spaniard plays a drop shot next and Jarry’s return hits the net – Alcaraz 30-0 up. He sends Jarry left and right and a huge forehand gets him to 40-0. He again can’t secure a perfect game though as he hits the net. Jarry’s return is then out.

Alcaraz can’t return the serve but then Jarry pushes a shot long. Jarry takes a lot of time before he serves, a little like Djokovic does. Alcaraz’ return on the serve is out and he can’t return it again! And Jarry takes it with another unreturnable serve.

Wow that is a great shot from Alcaraz. A powerful forehand pops in the right corner to win the opening point of the game. Jarry can’t return the serve and his drop shot doesn’t go over the net for the Spaniard to be 40-0 up. He does not take a clean game though as his smacks the net and he has too much on another shot to see Jarry back into the game. He hits the net again to bring the game to deuce, will we see the first break of the match here? No we won’t. Jarry hits the net and then he pushes a shot too far.

This time it is Alcaraz who attempts a drop shot but he hits the net. He then pushes the ball out giving Jarry 30-0. A great ace, right down the middle of the court, puts him 40-0 and a sensational forehand gives him the day.

An ace from Alcaraz starts the third game and Jarry hits the net to give the top seed 30-0. Alcaraz pushes a shot too long to let Jarry into the game but the Chilean tries to take the power out of the ball with a deft backhand but it hits the net. Jarry sends the ball out and Alcaraz wins the game.

A good start to the game from Jarry with a powerful serve gives him an ace but he pushes his return in a rally too far to level the game 15-15. Again Jarry’s return isn’t clinical and Alcaraz is 30-15 up. Jarry reads Alcaraz’ run well and sends the ball the other way for 30-30. The Spaniard can’t return a serve and Jarry’s return does not have enough power again to send the game to deuce. Jarry wraps it up cleanly.
Fucsovics served for the first set after an earlier break over Medvedev and he was clinical again! He takes it 6-4, if he goes all the way this could be an upset.

Jarry managed to get to a good position at 30-15 against serve but Alcaraz levelled with the ball hitting the net and bouncing in – he did apologise for the way the ball bounced. An ace saw Alcaraz 40-30 up but Jarry took the game to deuce. An ace gave Alcaraz the advantage but a great smash from Jarry levelled it out again. A well played ball from Alcaraz saw Jarry unable to get enough power on his return for advantage once more and a ball is out form Jarry! That’s the first game, wow what a match we are in for.

Alcaraz is taking on Nicolas Jarry, a Chilean player who will have to fight the top seed for a spot in the fourth round. The BBC have cut back to their studio but the match on centre court should start shortly!
Alcaraz will start shortly, Clare Balding is just doing more introductions around centre court. In the other men’s singles match Fucsovics is 3-1 up in the first set.
Cricket’s Sam Curran is also here as well as other footballers such as Leah Williams, Fran Kirby and Jill Scott. Gary Lineker, Sir Steve Redgrave and Sir Gareth Edwards are also here. There are also other names but there are so many I can’t keep up!
Clare Balding is introducing stars in the box on centre court. Former players are introduced, including Billie Jean King, receive a huge applause. Sue Barker is also here, the broadcaster and former player stood down from Wimbledon coverage last year. England player Beth Mead and her Arsenal teammate and partner Vivianne Miedema are also among the big names! Talk about star quality.

Fucsovics breaks Medvedev! What a moment for the Hungarian, Medvedev ran him close but Fucsovics was able to be clinical. A big game on our hands. Fucsovics 2-1 up in the first.
Fucsovics plays a lob close to the net but Medvedev reads it well and uses fast reflexes to win the point! It gave him two break points but he couldn’t finish it off with Fucsovics taking the game. 1-1 first set.

Medvedev started well in his first game, which included two aces, but made some errors too. He has a 1-0 advantage in the first set. All the other games are still suspended with the rain pouring in Wimbledon.

Both the men’s singles matches have also been suspended. It seems we are in for another long rainy day!
Why does it always rain on Wimbledon? Kvitova’s match has been suspended due to a rain delay, will bring you updates when that gets back underway on court 2. This means Stefanos Tsitsipas’ match against Laslo Djere will also be delayed as he is out on court after the Kvitova match is finished. Britain’s Christie and Collins’ doubles match has also been suspended because of the rain.

Brazil’s Maia is through to the fourth round after a dominant 6-2, 6-2 straight sets win over Romania’s Cîrstea. In the other women’s singles match Kostic is fighting back against Kvitova, leading the first set 5-4 after losing the first 6-3. Game on!
Britain’s Freya Christie and Ali Collins have taken the second set in their doubles match against Andrea Gamiz and Anastasia Dețiuc 6-2 and losing the first set 6-4. It all comes down to the third and final set!
Christopher Eubanks and Christopher O’Connell have just got their match underway on court 18. Eubanks is 1-0 up in the first set. The third set between Lehecka and Paul has also just started.
Kvitova is 4-2 up in the second set after taking the first 6-3 against Setvanovic. Maia is 4-1 up in the second against Cîrstea after claiming the first 4-2, Holger Rune will take to the court after that match is wrapped up on court 3.

Casper Ruud may have been knocked out of the singles, and attended a concert in London yesterday, but he is through to the second round of the men’s doubles with partner William Bloomberg. They defeated Roberto Carballés Baena and Daniel Elahi Galán in straight sets 6-3, 6-2.
Over in the men’s singles, one match is underway between Jiri Lehecka and Tommy Paul. Lehecka won the first set 6-2 but Paul leads the second 5-4 – this could turn into a real battle on day six.
Ekaterina Alexandrova has reached the fourth round of Wimbledon for the first time in her career with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Dalma Galfi. A strong straight sets win for the Russian.

Ekaterina Alexandrova stormed her first set against Dalma Gálfi 6-0 but the Hungarian is fighting back in the second, the score stands at 5-4. Beatriz Haddad Maia also won her first set 6-2 against Sorana Cîrstea.
Petra Kvitova has won the first set against Natalija Kostic 6-3 and they are currently 1-1 in the second. Kvitova won Wimbledon in 2011 and 2014.
Despite breaking their opponents in the set, Britain’s Freya Christie and Ali Collins have lost the first set 6-4 against Venezuela’s Andrea Gamiz the Czech Republic’s Anastasia Dețiuc. The Brits are currently 1-0 up in the second.
