Willis Towers Watson Stock: Is Wall Street Bullish or Bearish?

Shares of the London, the United Kingdom-based company have underperformed the broader market over the past 52 weeks. WTW stock has risen 2.7% over this time frame, while the broader S&P 500 Index ($SPX) has rallied 18.7%. Moreover, shares of the company are up 4.4% on a YTD basis, compared to SPX’s 12.1% gain.

Looking closer, shares of the insurance broker have lagged behind the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF’s (XLF) 8.6% return over the past 52 weeks.

Willis Towers Watson (WTW) shares rose 6.4% after the company reported better-than-expected Q2 2026 results on Jul. 30, with adjusted EPS of $3.35 (up 17%), while revenue climbed 9% to $2.46 billion. Strong performance across both segments supported the beat, with Risk & Broking revenue up 11% to $1.16 billion and organic growth of 7%, Health, Wealth & Career revenue rose 8% to $1.27 billion, adjusted EBITDA increased 13% to $529 million, and the adjusted operating margin expanded 100 basis points to 19.5%.

Investor sentiment was further boosted by the Propel AI initiative targeting approximately $400 million in run-rate savings and $350 million in net savings after reinvestment.

For the fiscal year ending in December 2026, analysts expect Willis Towers Watson’s adjusted EPS to grow 16% year-over-year to $19.82. The company’s earnings surprise history is promising. It beat the consensus estimates in each of the last four quarters.

Among the 24 analysts covering the stock, the consensus rating is a “Moderate Buy.” That’s based on 14 “Strong Buy” ratings, one “Moderate Buy,” and nine “Holds.”

This configuration is slightly less bullish than three months ago, with 15 “Strong Buy” ratings on the stock.

On Aug. 20, TD Cowen analyst Andrew Kligerman raised WTW’s price target to $455 from $391 and maintained a “Buy” rating.

The mean price target of $380.95 represents a 11% premium to WTW’s current price levels. The Street-high price target of $455 suggests a 32.6% potential upside.
