Will there be a FIFA 23 demo? How to access FIFA 23 early ahead of release

With the worldwide release of FIFA 23 fast approaching, fans everywhere are looking for ways to access the game early.

Over the last week, EA Sports has released over 1,000 player ratings for FIFA 23, with excitement starting to build ahead of the final FIFA title released by EA. It's been confirmed that FIFA 23 will be released worldwide on Friday, September 30, 2022 , but players who pre-order the Ultimate Edition of the game will be able to access the game earlier.

Some players can access FIFA 23 early through the Closed Beta, an invite-only scheme where EA allowed some players to play the full game over a month before the official release. More players will also be given early access before the full release through EA Play, a subscription service that allows a 10-hour trial of the game days before its release.

Early access through the Closed Beta, pre-ordering and EA Play allows players access to every game mode on FIFA 23, including their most popular game mode, Ultimate Team. Another way in which EA previously allowed players access to a FIFA title early was through a demo of the game.

The FIFA demo previously allowed players to use the kick-off mode in FIFA with a very limited amount of teams, usually teams that were in partnership with EA. But, there wasn't a demo released for FIFA 21 or FIFA 22, and we can confidently say there won't be a demo released for FIFA 23.

FIFA 21 was the first FIFA that introduced early access through the EA Play subscription, replacing the demo. It now seems that EA are opting to give players early access to the full version of the game through the Closed Beta, EA Play and pre-ordering rather than through the demo.

Back in 2020, EA released a statement from their Twitter account announcing that there wouldn't be a FIFA 21 demo due to putting their focus on the full game instead. "We've made the decision to focus our development team's time on delivering the best full game experience for current & next-gen consoles."

FIFA 23 is developed by EA Vancouver and EA Romania and will be available worldwide on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Stadia, PS4, and Xbox One on September 30. Early access for FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition begins on September 27, 2022.
