The Baltimore Ravens will be relying on wide receiver Rashod Bateman in a big way during the 2024 season. The fourth-year wideout out of Minnesota hasn’t lived up to expectations up to this point in his career but will be given a much more significant role this year to show what he’s got.
While some people believe in what Bateman can bring, others aren’t so sure. When predicting every team’s biggest bust for the 2024 season, David Kenyon of Bleacher Report named Bateman, citing that his profile doesn’t scream breakout player.
“Yes, it’s uncomfortable to move on from a top draft pick at a position of need. Simultaneously, the Ravens handed Rashod Bateman a two-year, $12.9 million extension after he barely generated 1,000 receiving yards in his first three seasons. His profile isn’t exactly screaming “breakout player” even as Lamar Jackson has to throw to someone.”
Fellow wide receiver Zay Flowers profiles to be the No. 1 option on the team at wideout, but Bateman will slot in as the unquestioned No. 2, barring any other moves. It’s sink or swim time for the pass catcher, and his performance could determine how good the Baltimore offense can be in 2024.
