Cooper Kupp has been sidelined since spraining his ankle in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals, sitting out the last four games. The Los Angeles Rams went 2-2 in that stretch without Kupp but his return is finally here.
The Rams released their final injury report of Week 8 on Wednesday ahead of their game against the Minnesota Vikings and Kupp appears to be good to go. After being listed as a full participant all week, he’s officially off the injury report with no designation for Thursday’s game.
Last week, he was questionable to play and wound up being inactive, so there are no concerns about him missing this pivotal contest against the Vikings. The only thing that could possibly prevent him from playing is a trade.
Cooper Kupp injury update
Sean McVay said earlier this week that the Rams are “definitely excited” to have Kupp back in the mix, which was the first indication that the star receiver would play against the Vikings. And now that Kupp was a full participant in practice, he’s just about certain to play against Minnesota, barring a trade or setback.
In the game and a half that Kupp has played this season, he caught 18 passes for 147 yards and a touchdown. His 18 receptions still rank third on the team despite missing four-plus games.
While Kupp should be active on Thursday, the Rams won’t have Jordan Whittington. He’s already been ruled out with a shoulder injury after missing practice on Wednesday.
Rams WR depth chart
WR1: Cooper Kupp
WR2: Demarcus Robinson/Tutu Atwell
WR3: Tyler Johnson
WR4: Xavier Smith
Kupp goes right to the top of the depth chart and should see a regular workload, which will give the offense a big lift. Whittington is out so Johnson, Robinson and Atwell will all see more snaps in his absence.
