Wild Youth has opened up about cutting ties with their choreographer in a recent interview.
The Dublin band released a statement on Twitter last week confirming that their choreographer Ian Banham had parted ways with the band . Ian had made controversial remarks on Twitter about Ukraine's victory in last year's Eurovision and transgender rights.
Band frontrunner Conor O'Donohoe said that these beliefs did not align with those of the band and led to Wild Youth cutting all ties with their former choreographer. The sacking ignited public debate and even caught the attention of Harry Potter author JK Rowling, who accused Wild Youth of "preening, self-satisfied misogyny" for their decision.

Conor O'Donohoe said: " I don't want to dwell on it too much but there's a series of tweets that were brought to our attention that kinda went against a lot of stuff that we believe in as a band. So we just thought it was easier to part company and go to Liverpool by ourselves."
He also commented on JK Rowling's public comments, saying that the remarks contributed to a stressful week for the band. Wild Youth are set to perform in the first Eurovision semi-final in just over a week's time.
Conor added: "She kind of hyper focused on one thing and really highlighted one thing that we have never referenced or spoke about, and focused on that being the main reason as to why we parted company, which isn't necessarily the truth. It's not the truth at all."
However, they remain optimistic about their participation in the competition. The band were applauded by the studio audience after addressing the debacle.
