Now in its 10th year, Independent Venue Week is back to celebrate the real heroes of the UK music scene.
That’s the dingy basements, graffiti-covered fire escapes, and sticker-clad stages: Our small venues. There’s a hatful of participating places in Manchester this year.
They include Night and Day, Yes, Gullivers, and Retro, to name but a few. This year, with economic perma-crisis enveloping the UK, it feels like IVW can provide a much-needed injection of life into venues struggling to make ends meet.
