Why Man City walked away from Declan Rice transfer and why Man Utd got better deal than Arsenal

Arsenal are set to sign Declan Rice from West Ham United in a deal worth £105million. The Hammers skipper was expected to complete his medical on Friday, with the transfer expected to be announced next week.

It will make Rice the most expensive British player in history, with the transfer topping the £100million Manchester City spent on Jack Grealish.

Rice has been Arsenal's priority target for this summer transfer window and they have led the race to sign him for much of it since the window opened. There was, however, interest from Manchester City, although after having a bid rejected, they pulled out of the race.
