Why Kelly Osbourne's 'Thin Look' at 2026 BRITs Continues to Worry Fans Despite Her Plea for Compassion

Photos of Kelly Osbourne at the 2026 BRIT Awards quickly went viral not just for the family tribute she attended, but for the dramatic weight loss fans noticed on the red carpet.

The 41-year-old arrived alongside her mother Sharon Osbourne to accept a posthumous honor for her father, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, who died in July 2025.

Within hours, social media was flooded with comments about Kelly's noticeably slimmer look. While she has asked people to show compassion and stop speculating about her health, the images continue to fuel concern and debate online.

The Emotional Night That Sparked the Conversation

Kelly walked the red carpet in a black velvet floor-length gown with a corseted bodice and a dramatic feathered bolero jacket. She accessorised with layered necklaces, including a cross and a pendant bearing the letter 'O,' widely interpreted as a tribute to her father.

However, soon after red-carpet photos circulated online, much of the discussion shifted away from the tribute itself.

Many posts focused on Kelly's noticeably thinner appearance, with side-by-side images comparing her look to previous public appearances. Her mother later addressed the speculation briefly, telling reporters that Kelly had been struggling to eat following Ozzy's death.

Fans React as Photos Go Viral

As images spread across social media, thousands of comments poured in expressing worry. Some viewers described her as 'frail' or 'unrecognizable,' while others urged her to seek help or take time away from public attention.

Several viral posts referenced a roughly 37-kilogram (about 85-pound) weight loss that has occurred in phases over the past few years. Close-up images also led some commenters to speculate about rapid weight-loss trends often discussed in Hollywood, including the use of medications such as Ozempic.

Kelly has repeatedly denied those claims.

The speculation intensified partly because Sharon Osbourne previously confirmed she had used Ozempic herself to lose weight, which some fans say added to the online rumours about Kelly's transformation.

Kelly Osbourne Pushes Back at Online Criticism

Before the BRIT Awards, Kelly had already addressed the growing commentary around her appearance.

In late 2025, she shared and later deleted a video responding to people asking whether she was sick or using weight-loss drugs. In the post, she explained that she had undergone gastric-sleeve surgery in 2018 and made lifestyle changes after developing gestational diabetes during pregnancy with her son.

She also denied taking Ozempic, saying the assumption was incorrect.

After the BRITs backlash, Kelly again spoke out on Instagram, sharing screenshots of harsh messages she had received. In one post, she wrote that people were criticising her while she was dealing with the most difficult period of her life.

Grief and Weight Loss Conversations Continue

Ozzy Osbourne died on 22 July last year, at age 76, from complications related to a heart attack, according to family statements.

Since then, Kelly has occasionally shared glimpses of her grief on social media but has largely kept her private life out of the spotlight. Friends quoted in tabloid reports have said the family has been deeply affected by the loss.

Moreover, a separate conversation about women's appearance in the entertainment industry, especially on the red carpet, has been at the centre since last year.

Recently, stars like Emma Stone, Demi Moore, Lily Collins, Ariana Grande, and Cynthia Erivo's comparatively thin, lean looks were questioned by fans and users on social media, with accusations of having 'Ozempic face.'

In Kelly's case, she has continued to emphasise that her health and personal struggles are private and that public judgment only makes an already difficult time harder.
