It's fair to say that Luis Suarez is one of the most divisive footballers of all time.
As a player, Suarez was one of the best in the world at his peak. An all-action centre forward, the Uruguayan was a menace to defenders and scored goals for fun in his spells at Liverpool and Barcelona.
But problems and unsavoury events have always followed the striker. From (Multiple) biting incidents to racism allegations, Suarez has courted controversy for years.

Perhaps the most controversial incident took place at the 2010 FIFA World Cup. In the semi-finals of the tournament in South Africa, Uruguay faced Ghana in the quarter-finals. With the game tied at 1-1 in the dying seconds of extra time, Suarez blocked a goal-bound header from Dominic Adiyiah's with his hands.
Ghana were denied a goal that would have sent them to the semi-finals and Suarez was sent off. Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan missed the resulting penalty, and Uruguay ended up prevailing 4-2 on penalties in a shootout.
Ghana's hearts were broken at the controversial exit at the hands of Suarez. The Uruguayan's joyous celebrations after Gyan's penalty miss did little to win favour with the Ghanaian public.
12 years on, the sides met earlier today in the 2022 World Cup. Uruguay won 2-0 with Suarez playing a key role in both goals, but it wasn't enough as a late winner for South Korea in their game with Portugal knocked Uruguay out of the competition.
Back at the Al Janoub Stadium, the camera panned to a distraught Suarez who was on the Uruguayan bench having been substituted for Edinson Cavani in the second half. A loud cheer, presumably from Ghana's supporters went up in the stadium as Suarez was shown on the screen.
Even though both sides went out, Ghana may feel they have gotten some revenge over the man that a Ghanaian journalist called 'The Devil himself' in a press conference on Thursday.
Uruguay crash out of the competition with Korea progressing along with Portugal in a dramatic end to Group H.
