Why has inflation risen and what does it mean for me?

Inflation has accelerated to its highest rate in almost a year after fuel prices climbed last month.

Consumer Prices Index (CPI) inflation rose to 3.5% in September, from 3.1% in August, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said.
