Guenther Steiner has branded his exit from Red Bull Racing as "lucky" because it opened the door for him to move and work in the United States.

Before his time as Haas Formula 1 team principal, Steiner worked alongside Christian Horner at the Milton Keynes outfit as technical operations director in 2005. But after Red Bull hired Adrian Newey, Steiner moved to North Carolina to serve as technical director of Red Bull's NASCAR team - a position he held from April 2006 to April 2008.
