Why drivers should remove car air fresheners before an MOT

The annual MOT is often a stressful time for car owners. There are many factors that mean a vehicle can fail the test of roadworthiness.

Faulty number plate lights and having no washer fluid for the windscreen are just two of the reasons why MOT test centres fail vehicles. To help drivers, motoring experts from LeaseCar.uk and its sister site LeaseElectricCar.co.uk have put together a list of checks people should make to ensure their car passes without a hitch.

A LeaseCar.uk spokesman said: “The time of the year when an MOT is due is one of the most nerve-wracking moments for drivers. It’s extremely important to carry out unusual checks such as removing an air freshener and checking reversing lights, to make sure everything is in top form.
