For many parents, one of the most worrying moments is when they realise their child is going through something but is not talking about it. A child may suddenly become quiet, spend more time alone, avoid conversations or appear less interested in things they normally enjoy. When parents ask what is wrong, the answer may simply be, "Nothing."
Children may hide their problems for many different reasons. Sometimes they do not know how to explain what they are feeling. At other times, they may worry about how their parents will react. Even when parents are loving and caring, children may still find it difficult to open up about certain problems.
