Arsenal have agreed a fee of £21million plus add ons for Brighton winger Leandro Trossard, football.london understands.
The talented attacker is set to sign a contract in north London until 2027 with the option to extend by a further year. Trossard had enjoyed a fruitful 2022/23 campaign before falling out with head coach Roberto De Zerbi, netting seven league goals and providing a further three assists.
De Zerbi left the Belgian out of his matchday squad for last weekend's 3-0 win over Liverpool, explaining his decision after the match. “I want to be clear about Trossard,” the former Shakhtar Donetsk boss said.

“I’m fine with myself and I’m ready to open the doors for him, because he’s a good guy and a very important player for us. He changes the team, but he has to understand and to work with my attitude, in my way, because I am the coach, I decide the rules inside the dressing room, only this."
Some Arsenal fans were then quick to question Trossard's attitude after news broke of their interest in the deal, although The Athletic have now reported that any concerns over this were quickly relieved by assistant coach Albert Stuivenberg, who managed the 28-year-old at Genk back in 2017.
Clearly, Mikel Arteta trusts the Dutchman's verdict considering how quickly the Gunners were in negotiations for the player.
Trossard will add some much-needed depth to Arteta's frontline, with injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Reiss Nelson leaving the Spaniard short of options in attack.
Wingers Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka have started all 18 of the north Londoners' Premier League fixtures this season, something that could have led to burnout without Trossard, whsoe signing will ease the burden on the two 21-year-olds.
