NEW DELHI: After nine Olympic appearances and three medals, Nino Salukvadze had all but given up on her pistol when her father passed away, and his "final wish" motivated her to compete in a record tenth Games.
The 55-year-old, who carried Georgia's flag during the opening ceremony, made history by competing in her first Summer Games for ten consecutive years. She was just the second athlete overall, after show jumper Ian Millar, as per PTI.
