Who is Tom Bradby? Prince Harry interview hosted by ITV journalist famous for Meghan question

Tom Bradby will have the eyes of the nation on him on Sunday night when he conducts the already headline-hitting interview with Prince Harry, years after a simple question he asked to Meghan Markle attracted worldwide attention.

It was confirmed in the run up to Christmas that the Duke of Sussex would sit down with ITV journalist Tom for a candid chat, which would air days before the release of his highly publicised autobiography Spare. While the interview will eventually air on ITV1 at 9pm on Sunday night, a number of teasers have already been shared, which cover a number of major talking points.

The biggest of those is Prince Harry's claim that he and elder brother Prince William got into a physical altercation over Meghan back in 2019, with Harry alleging that the now Prince of Wales saw 'red mist' as he hit out at Meghan' behaviour, before grabbing Harry by the collar and shoving him backwards, causing him to fall onto a china dog bowl.

Another clip saw Bradby ask Harry if he still plans to attend his father King Charles III's coronation later this year, with Harry replying: 2There's lot that can happen between now and then."

Prince Harry: The Interview will go head-to-head with hit BBC One drama Happy Valley in a ratings battle on Sunday, with both channels set to secure huge viewing figures.

Who is Tom Bradby on ITV?

Tom, 55, is an ITV journalist who is best known for presenting News at Ten. Acclaimed anchor Tom has attracted plenty of attention and praise for his at times cutting verdicts on the Government, during live news broadcasts, taking aim at them for their handling of the Covid pandemic and the Tory leadership crisis.

A former political editor of ITV News, Tom also fronted his own show The Agenda with Tom Bradby and has been at the forefront of the broadcaster's General Election and US Election coverage.

He landed a major royal role for the channel in 2021, when he co-hosted live coverage of Prince Philip's funeral. And, his links with Harry and Meghan don't stop at Sunday night's interview, as he is the journalist who famously asked Meghan if she was OK, when he spoke to her during an overseas visit, in a gesture she welcomed with surprise and gratitude.

A lot has been made of the fact that Tom is Prince Harry's 'friend' with This Morning presenter Josie Gibson asking a rather pointed question to one of Tom's ITV News colleagues if that was the reason why he is doing the interview.

Tom has been candid about what he described as "a hideous breakdown" in 2018. He was signed off work for three months as he struggled with insomnia and an increasing addiction to sleeping pills.

Away from ITV camera, Tom is also a published author, with him promoting his latest thriller, Yesterday's Spy just on Thursday.
