Love Island is back, and a fresh cast of new islanders are in the villa hoping to find love.
The sexy singletons are spending the summer in a luxury Majorcan villa–while reality TV fans tune in every night to find out who will hit it off and who will simply be pied off.
The first wave of Love Island contestants coupled up and started getting to know each other. But with heads already turned, how long will the couples last?
One of the original islanders is Tasha Ghouri–find out everything we know about her so far…
Who is Tasha Ghouri?
Tasha Ghouri is a 23-year-old model and dancer from Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
Tasha is Love Island’s first-ever deaf contestant. Born completely deaf, Tasha had a cochlear implant fitted at five-years-old, and had years of speech therapy.
The model thinks her loved ones would say she’s “inspirational” because of her hearing and cochlear implant: “I inspire quite a lot of people because I’m really open about it.”
She’s joining Love Island because her dating life “has been a shambles.” Tasha says: “This is an opportunity for me to find ‘the one’ and have a great summer at the same time.
“I’m definitely ready for a relationship. I’m 23 now so I’m ready to get to know someone, go on holidays and travel with them.”
Tasha is going to bring her “goofiness” to the villa–she says she’s “so goofy and a joker,” adding, “I’m also sassy, but I think I’ll just bring myself as a person and I’ll feel like that’s enough!”
Her family would describe her as “wild,” as the 23-year old reveals, “I can get very wild on a night out, I’m definitely a party animal.
“I love my prosecco and to have a dance—I’m always on the dance floor.”
But she’s also “very loyal” to her friends and family—“I’m the type of person to put others before me,” she says.
The model and dancer thinks she should be lucky in love in Majorca, because she’s true to herself and would never pretend to be somebody she’s not.
However, she thinks that men can be “quite intimidated” by her. Tasha says: “I’ve been on so many dates before but it just hasn’t worked out for me. I haven’t found that click with somebody yet.
“I think I’m waiting for that click moment and that spark, it’s all about the spark on the first date.”
Tasha is willing to step on toes during her time on Love Island, saying: “It’s a tough one because I’m a girls’ girl but it is a dating show and I’m here to find my man. I may have to step on toes but I’ll do it in the nicest way possible.”
And is she expecting to fall in love this summer? She says: “I haven’t been in love but I do get attached very easily—I can like someone really quick. I wear my heart on my sleeve.”
Love Island is on every day at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV hub. Episodes are available the following morning on Britbox.
