Who is Raseshwari Devi, spiritual leader behind upcoming 1,500-seat meditation and wellness centre on World Meditation Day 2026?

Spiritual leader Raseshwari Devi announced two major initiatives- construction of a large Yoga and meditation hall in Odisha and a week-long meditation camp in Haridwar- on the occasion of World Meditation Day 2026. The initiatives have been launched under the guidance of Braj Gopika Seva Mission, a spiritual and charitable organization founded by Raseshwari Devi Ji in 1998. The organisation said a dedicated Yoga and Meditation Hall with a capacity of more than 1,500 people is being built near Tangi in Odisha’s Khurda district, close to Bhubaneswar. The upcoming centre is expected to become a major hub for meditation, yogic education, spiritual retreats, and wellness-focused community activities.

The mega meditation camp is scheduled to be held in Haridwar from June 11 to June 17, 2026, and nearly 2,500 participants, along with several international attendees, are expected to take part in the event. The week-long camp is set to feature guided meditation sessions, talks on yogic philosophy, practical wellness workshops, and interactive discussions focused on integrating meditation into daily life.

Who is Raseshwari Devi?

Raseshwari Devi is an Indian spiritual leader, preacher of Sanatan Vedic philosophy, and the founder-president of Braj Gopika Seva Mission. Born in Bhilai, she pursued studies in Mathematics and English Literature before embracing the path of renunciation in 1988 under the guidance of Jagadguru Swami Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj.

Over the past three decades, she has led spiritual discourses, meditation camps, youth outreach programmes, and social welfare initiatives across India and internationally. Her teachings primarily focus on Shri Krishna Bhakti, Upanishadic wisdom, meditation, and value-based living. Through her work, she combines devotional spirituality with youth engagement, meditation awareness, and humanitarian service in areas such as education, healthcare, and cultural development.

Early Spiritual Journey of Raseshwari Devi

Raseshwari Devi was raised in a deeply spiritual family, which shaped her connection with faith from an early age. Her spiritual path was guided by her Guru, Jagadguru Swami Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, whom many followers regard as one of the prominent Jagadgurus of modern times.

She also received strong spiritual guidance from her father, known for his profound understanding of scriptures and deep devotion to Bhakti philosophy. Under his mentorship, she immersed herself in the study of the Upanishads and Shri Krishna Bhakti traditions, building the foundation of her spiritual teachings.

Bringing Ancient Wisdom Into Everyday Life

Over the years, Raseshwari Devi Ji emerged as a respected spiritual speaker known for explaining complex philosophical ideas in a simple and relatable way. Rather than using abstract concepts, her discourses often focus on emotions, self-discipline, decision-making, relationships, and personal transformation.

Her teachings aim to show how ancient devotional wisdom can be applied in modern daily life. This practical approach has helped her connect with people across age groups, especially young audiences seeking meaning, balance, and emotional clarity.

Recognition for Spiritual and Community Work

Raseshwari Devi Ji has received recognition for her contributions to spirituality, youth engagement, and community service. Honours such as recognition from the Ministry of Youth Affairs, the Spiritual Ambassador title from the Youth Peace Ambassador Organization, and the Global Peace Award 2022 reflect her continued work in promoting meditation, value-based living, and social welfare initiatives.

Her efforts focus not only on spiritual learning but also on bridging ancient Indian wisdom with modern lifestyles through youth programmes, meditation workshops, and community outreach activities.

Ancient Wisdom With a Modern Perspective

One of the defining aspects of Raseshwari Devi Ji’s teachings is her ability to interpret ancient scriptures through the lens of contemporary life. She often draws examples from modern-day challenges and explains how spiritual wisdom can help people develop self-awareness, emotional strength, and inner balance.

Her talks frequently explore themes such as spirituality, faith, self-mastery, relationships, and personal growth, making traditional teachings more accessible to younger generations.

Youth and Cultural Development Programmes

Through initiatives such as Bal Sanskar Shivir and Yuva Utthan Shivir, she has focused on building strong moral and cultural values among children and youth. These programmes aim to encourage character development, discipline, and social responsibility while promoting a deeper understanding of Indian spiritual traditions.

Her approach is often compared to modern spiritual movements such as Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and the Art of Living Foundation. While both emphasise meditation, community service, and holistic well-being, Raseshwari Devi Ji’s teachings are deeply rooted in Bhakti Yoga and Upanishadic philosophy. Despite their differences, both approaches resonate with people searching for purpose and inner fulfilment beyond material success.
