Hannah Spencer has been elected as the MP for Gorton and Denton in a historic by-election victory for the Green Party.

She won 41 per cent of the vote, 12 points ahead of the second-placed Reform UK candidate Matt Goodwin, a much greater margin than polls had predicted.
