Who is Georginio Rutter? The Hoffenheim striker linked with £30m move to Leeds United

Leeds United have not hidden their desire to bolster their front line and have been linked with a move for highly rated Hoffenheim striker Georginio Rutter. The young French forward, who came through the youth ranks at Rennes, is being tipped for a move to the Premier League after impressing in the Bundesliga.

The 20-year-old has scored 11 goals in 64 appearances since making the move to Hoffenheim back in February 2021. The German outfit saw off a number of Premier League sides in order to sign the youngster.

In the summer of 2020, French outlet "L'Equipe" claimed that Arsenal, Newcastle United and "half the Bundesliga" were looking to sign him. The speculation came as no surprise, with Rutter having showcased his ability with the French youth sides from Under-16 level upwards - including at the U17 World Cup in 2019, where he scored three goals as Les Bleus finished third.
