Gemma Owen has her cage well and truly rattled when her ex Jacques O'Neill makes a dramatic entrance into Love Island.
After thigs turned sour between Gemma and Davide, Friday's episode ended rather well for Michael Owen's daughter, when Luca, 24 hours after confessing her feelings for the 19-year-old, chose to pair up with her in the first recoupling of Love Island 2022. However, things will soon take turn for dressage rider when her ex Jacques makes a shock arrival.
Gemma's ex Love Island debut was teased by narrator Iain Stirling right before credits rolled on Friday's show, with images of him flashing up on screen and them Gemma being heard to shout: "Oh my god! That's my ex boyfriend."

As the episode drew to that explosive close, Love Island fans headed straight to Google for answers on who her ex is, while others made predictions on the potential carnage he will cause. One tweeted: "That feeling when you know the ex is gonna name drop Michael Owen before Gemma does," and another reacting: "Michael Owen watching Gemma’s ex waking into the villa to cause carnage."
Who is Gemma Owen's Love Island ex Jacques O'Neill?
Jacques, 23, is a rugby league player for Castleford Tigers in the Betfred Super League. He plays as a hooker or loose forward for his team, with his previous clubs including Leigh Centurions and Halifax.
He was born on May 8 1999 in Barrow-in-Furness. Jacques isn't the first sports star to enter the villa, boxer Tommy Fury made the final in 2019 and footballer Finn Tapp won Winter Love Island in 2020.
