BloodHound Q50, the Chicago rapper whose real name was Mikquale Cooper, was reportedly killed at the age of 22 in a deadly Fuller Park shooting. The rising artist had only been seriously pursuing music since 2023, and his sudden death has put his short but rapidly growing career and his final Instagram Story in the spotlight.

BloodHound Q50 had been building a name in Chicago’s drill music scene when his life was reportedly cut short in the early hours of Sunday, September 13. According to a preliminary Chicago police report, as many as six gunmen fired more than 50 rounds at a white Tesla at a BP gas station in Fuller Park. Cooper was reportedly sitting in the driver's seat when the attackers opened fire.

Who was BloodHound Q50?

BloodHound Q50 was the stage name of Mikquale Cooper, a Chicago drill rapper who was 22 when he was reportedly killed. Q50 was an emerging name in Chicago's drill scene and was known for a gritty, street-focused style.

His music career was relatively new. India Today reported that he began pursuing music seriously in 2023, but quickly started attracting attention with tracks including “Big 3” and “Coffin.”

Although Q50 had been making music for only a few years, his output increased rapidly during 2026. According to India Today, he released projects including Hall of Fame and Bloody Storm in July, followed by Get Back Or Die Trying in August. He also released the single “Head Taps” later that month, according to Hindustan Times.

One of the biggest talking points following the reported shooting has been BloodHound Q50's last Instagram Story. According to Hindustan Times, the rapper posted the Story about seven hours before his reported death. The post showed him expressing support for rapper EST Gee's new album Bigger Than The Devil and enjoying the track “Sometimes.”

The ordinary nature of the post has drawn attention because it was reportedly among Q50's final social media updates before the fatal shooting. Fans have since been revisiting his online activity as details of the shooting emerged.
