The upcoming 2023/24 Premier League season offers a new hope to all sides that they may be able to reach new heights, attain new goals and have a bit of fun on the journey too. For Arsenal, it offers a second bite at the figurative cherry that is the Premier League title.
The Gunners emerged as unexpected candidates to win the league last season, despite missing out on top four the year prior, setting a blistering pace. With each game that passed, the reality of their push to the top grew, but after a run of tough results, the race was out of their hands.
Instead, it was Manchester City who won the crown yet again, but for Mikel Arteta it served as a good measurement of his side's ability and limitations ahead of the summer transfer window. The Gunners look set for a huge few months in the market, with the return of Champions League football adding another challenge for the squad.
One of the key areas that may be addressed is the midfield as football.london understands that Declan Rice is a top priority for the club this summer. Reports claim that an offer worth a total of £100million is being prepared by the north London side to beat competitors to his signature.
Then there's Brighton star Moises Caicedo, who Arsenal made an approach for in January, but ultimately missed out on by the end of the window. Reports have linked the 21-year-old once again, with the Seagulls setting a valuation of £70-80million to land him this summer.
Another name that has cropped up is Chelsea's Kai Havertz, and football.london understands that the Gunners do hold an interest in the Germany international. The Blues are said to have set a £75million valuation, with his contract entering the final two-years, though Arsenal are looking to reduce that.

If all three were to sign, it would outline the huge ambition from those at the top at the club, pushing the side towards being as strong as possible. Arsenal now know when they could make their debut too, as the Premier League fixtures for the 2023/24 campaign have been released.
If they were to be signed by the squad registration deadline, Rice, Caicedo and Havertz could all play against Nottingham Forest at home on August 12. It could be a first glimpse into the new era of Arsenal for those spectators that have managed to buy themselves a ticket.
Following their clash against Forest, should it take a little longer for the deals to go through, there are games against Crystal Palace away and Fulham at home. The first game after the transfer window closes will be at home against Manchester United, where any last minute recruits could be handed a fiery first encounter.
