BBC One is presenting live coverage and evening highlights of the 2022 Commonwealth Games, with an impressive lineup of sports presenters and commentators. The coverage has also resulted in some scheduling changes for BBC One flagship soap EastEnders.
Among the presenters and commentators are Clare Balding and Hazel Irvine and guest presenters include sporting stars like Ellie Simmons and Max Whitlock. The Commonwealth Games are taking place in Birmingham, you can read all the venues being used here.

This is the first time the Commonwealth Games is back in the UK since it was hosted in 2014 in Glasgow. The opening ceremony was watched across the UK, with Clare Balding and Hazel Irvine leading the coverage. Here is the full list of presenters and commentators for the Commonwealth Games 2022.
Commonwealth Games 2022 main presenters
Gabby Logan
Welsh sports presenter Gabby Logan is part of the BBC One team presenting the Commonwealth Games. Gabby herself is a former professional rhythmic gymnast and her father is former Welsh footballer and former Welsh national football manager Terry Yorath.
Gabby is known for hosting Final Score from 2009 to 2013 and continues to present live sport for the BBC including the Invictus Games and London Marathon. You can read more about Gabby here.
Clare Balding
Well-known sporting presenter Clare Balding is leading the coverage of the Commonwealth Games. She covers sporting events for the BBC, Channel 4, and BT Sport.
Clare is one of the main presenters for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award and she has previously presented Countryfile.
Hazel Irvine
With many years of experience under her belt, Hazel Irvine is known for presenting sporting events. She has covered 15 summer and winter Olympics, major golfing competitions, and the snooker.
She will be presenting the morning coverage of the Commonwealth Games.
Jason Mohammed
Another Welsh presenter on the team is Jason Mohammed. He currently hosts Final Score on BBC One, taking over from Gabby Logan.
He has also covered the Six Nations for BBC and the 2016 Rio Olympics. His other credits include hosting shows on BBC Radio Wales and covering for Clare Balding's Radio Two show.
Holly Hamilton
Holly Hamilton has appeared on BBC Breakfast, the Victoria Derbyshire programme, and presented for BBC News. Holly is from Northern Ireland and is married to fellow television and radio presenter Connor Phillips.
Ayo Akinwolere
Ayo Akinwolere's first job on TV was as a presenter for the children's show Blue Peter. He currently presents Channel 4 Rugby Internationals for Channel 4 and The Big Tackle for Channel 4.
Ayo is also a reporter for Football Focus and Match of the Day and has taken part in celebrity episodes of the Great British Bake Off and Total Wipeout.
JJ Chalmers
Invictus Games medallist from Scotland, John-James (JJ) Chalmers is on the BBC presenting team for the Commonwealth Games. He was injured in a bomb blast in Afghanistan in 2011 while serving as a Royal Marine.
JJ has presented National Paralympic Day for Channel 4 and covered the 2016 Olympics for Channel 4. In 2017 he joined the BBC team and presented the 2017 Invictus Games.
Isa Guha
Specialising in cricket presenting Isa Guha is a cricket presenter for radio and TV and a cricket commentator. She has worked for ITV, the BBC, and Sky Sports.
Isa is also a former England international cricket player who played in the 2005 World Cup and the 2009 World Cup.
Commonwealth Games commentators
Matt Baker: Commentating for the gymnastics is Matt Baker. Matt is known for formerly presenting Blue Peter and now is a main presenter for the BBC Sunday show Countryfile.
Craig Heap: Also on the commentating team for the gymnastics is Craig Heap. Craig is a former gymnast who has won gold at the Commonwealth Games.
Christine Still: Christine Still also join the gymnastics commentating team. She is a gymnastic coach and has commentated for the BBC for many years.
Steve Backley: Steve Backley will commentate for field events. Steve was a former javelin athlete who holds the British world record for the javelin throw.
Steve Cram: Commentating for track events is Steve Cram. He was a professional middle distance runner and set records in the 1,500m, 2,000m, and three-mile run.
