Where My 600-lb Life's Larry Myers is after appearing on show for weight loss surgery

Over eleven seasons, viewers of My 600-lb Life have watched participants embark on a year-long health and fitness regime to keep their obesity under control.

And Larry Myers was one such person featured on the weight loss reality show, who won fans over as he pined for a second chance at overhauling his lifestyle for a second chance as becoming a gospel singer.

Larry was 45 years old when he appeared on season ten of the series, with his case being slightly different than others as he had already undergone weight loss surgery before his time on the show.

The description for his episode, which premiered on January 26, 2022, read: "For Larry, a second surgery means a second chance as a gospel singer."

Explaining his circumstances during the episode, Larry said: "The relationship that I have with food, I know that it's not normal. I eat to comfort myself. When I'm cooking, it's the only time I'm happy, besides when I'm eating.

"So it's the time that I like to sing, and I sing gospel. Because the rest of the time, when I'm not eating, most of my thoughts are morbidly depressing," he added.

Having gained 400 pounds "five years after his first bariatric surgical procedure," he was compelled to seek the help of Dr. Younan Nowzaradan.

Screen Rant said: "He'd struggled with binge-eating habits, which made him gain a great deal of weight. His TLC debut is quite unforgettable because of the traumatic life events that he sadly went through.

"Although Larry was unable to lose enough weight to be approved for surgery by My 600-lb Life's Dr. Nowzaradan, he was given another chance to slim down, and meet his goal."

And now, more than a year after his episode debuted, Larry is still continuing his health journey, which he has been documenting on his social media profiles, with his progress being evident.

One person commented under his Instagram picture: "I absolutely love you!!! I’m so proud of the progress you made ! The whole time I’m watching I kept saying I need to be friends with Larry!"

Another wrote: "We’re all rooting for you! Keep going ! God Bless," while a third added: "Hi Larry. I watched your story about your weight loss. You got this. Never give up. Never ever. You have way too much to live for. You are a work in progress and God has you. You are in my prayers."

On his Instagram account, @mr_jello_cup.__, he has revealed he's releasing a book titled The Weight of Grief: One Man's Journey to Overcome Addiction & Find Hope.

The book is set to "take audiences on a journey to self-discovery and transformation".
