A surprising wildlife search is under progress in Texas after a giraffe named Gracie went missing from a private ranch, leaving authorities and staff searching in rugged countryside with little success so far. The case has received attention because of both the size of the animal and how easily she has managed to vanish in such a vast environment.
The giraffe, around three years old, escaped from her enclosure at Cedar Hollow Ranch in the Texas Hill Country. The property lies in Real County, a remote region west of San Antonio popular for its open, uneven terrain.
