Irish TV presenter Amanda Byram has more than 20 years experience in the industry since she started out on TV3 in the 90s.
The 49-year-old half-Irish and half-Iranian model is known for hosting controversial US TV show The Swan in the early 2000s and more recently for presenting Total Wipeout and Dancing With The Stars Ireland.
Life looks very different for Amanda now. The Dubliner lives with her television producer husband Julian Okines in their home in London and they share an 18-month-old toddler.
Here’s a look inside her private life, her 20-year career in TV and becoming a mother at 48.
Career
Amanda’s television career started out on Ireland AM, where she met her ex-boyfriend Patrick Kielty - who is now married to Cat Deeley and hotly tipped to be the new host of the Late Late Show.
After moving to London in the early 2000s, Amanda went on to host Channel 4’s The Big Breakfast in 2001 before she made the big move to the United States.
In 2004, Byram presented American reality show The Swan, a controversial series where real-life contestants underwent extreme makeovers, including cosmetic surgery, to turn them from an 'ugly duckling' into a 'swan'.
The show only ran for two seasons and since then, Amanda has gone on to present BBC One game show Total Wipeout with Richard Hammond, Sunday Brunch and Dancing With The Stars Ireland with Westlife's Nicky Byrne.
Relationships
Before Amanda met and married her now husband Julian Okines, she was famously in a relationship with Co Down comedian Patrick Kielty for five years. They were one of the hottest couples on the Dublin celebrity scene before breaking up in 2003.
In her late 30s, Amanda was engaged to Australian rugby player Craig McMullen but called off the engagement just one month before the wedding in 2011.
She met her husband Julian Okines, a TV producer, in 2014 and they announced their engagement in December 2015.
The happy couple got married at London’s Mandarin Oriental hotel in April 2016 and they had a marriage blessing on the beach in the Maldives during their honeymoon. The pair currently live in a house in south-west London with their child.
New baby
Amanda Byram became a first time mum in November 2021 at the age of 48. She welcomed a baby boy with husband Julian that they named Phoenix Blaze Byram Okines.
Amanda kept her pregnancy secret until giving birth and revealed the happy news on Instagram.
In her announcement, said the couple's fertility journey "has been long" - involving "the heartbreak of hope that turned to hopelessness" and "elation that turned to devastation."
Amanda has since given fans a glimpse at life with her adorable son, Phoenix, via social media – with frequent snaps showing him enjoying time with his father, family members, friends and out and about in the world.
