For a third straight week, Brett McMurphy has the Spartans staying close to home this bowl season.
McMurphy of the Action Network released an updated batch of bowl projections on Monday, and he has Michigan State landing in the GameAbove Sports Bowl in Detroit. He is projecting the Spartans to face Buffalo in the bowl.
The GameAbove Sports Bowl has been a popular destination for the Spartans in projections this week. CBS Sports also has Michigan State landing in that bowl game.
The Spartans are 4-6 overall and 2-5 in Big Ten play. Michigan State has dropped its last three games and will need to win its final two games to reach bowl eligibility.
Michigan State will return to action this week against Purdue. Kickoff time is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on Friday and the game will be televised on Fox.
