The Chicago Bears had the NFL’s best run game last season, and they’ll have a new-look running back room this season. With David Montgomery’s departure, Khalil Herbert is expected to step into the lead role with newcomers D’Onta Foreman and Roschon Johnson competing.
EA Sports has been releasing Madden 24 ratings, continuing with running backs, where Herbert and Foreman each earned a 77 rating while Johnson landed a 70 rating.
Herbert was one of the most effective running backs in the league. He led all running backs in yards per attempt (5.7), and he showed his playmaking ability once he hits the open field. Herbert will enter training camp as the lead back, but he’ll have to hold off Foreman and Johnson.
Foreman is coming off an impressive year with the Panthers, where he totaled 914 rushing yards and proved to be a reliable replacement for Christian McCaffrey, who was traded in November.
Johnson stood in the shadow of Bijan Robinson at Texas, and there are many who believe he can be an impact rookie. Not only is Johnson a physical runner, but he’s a pass catching threat out of the backfield and solid in pass protection, where Herbert and Foreman lack.
