When was the Lynx’s last WNBA Finals appearance?

After defeating the Connecticut Sun in five games, the Minnesota Lynx are in the WNBA Finals. However, you might wonder when Minnesota last appeared on the league’s biggest stage.

Here’s the answer: It was 2017, and they played the Los Angeles Sparks. It was a rematch from the 2016 WNBA Finals, where the Lynx fell 3-2.

Minnesota ultimately flipped the script, fittingly beating the Sparks in five games, earning the franchise’s fourth WNBA title in seven years and tying the now-defunct Houston Comets for the most championships in league history. Current head coach Cheryl Reeve oversaw the team, and WNBA legend Sylvia Fowles, the 2017 MVP, was also the Finals MVP.
