In a recent conversation with Chris Forsberg and Trenni Casey on NBC Sports Boston’s “Arbella Early Edition,” Sports Illustrated reporter Chris Mannix raised a cautionary flag for basketball fans and the Boston Celtics organization. It regarded the still unresolved supermax contract extension negotiations between star forward Jaylen Brown and the Celtics.
Mannix set the date of Aug. 1 as a critical deadline to monitor the contract situation between the team and their star forward. If a deal has not been agreed upon by that date, concerns may arise regarding Brown’s future with the Celtics that are more than smoke and mirrors being cast about by parties with an agenda.
