When is the Love Island 2022 final? How long the series will last as new bombshells enter

Love Island returned to our screens earlier this week and fans are already hooked.

This year's shows came with a shocking twist in the first episode, with host Laura Whitmore telling the girls that the public chose their pairings for them.

And now, a couple of days in, the contestants are being 'grabbed for chats' as they get to know each other and test their compatibilities.

Italian stallion Davide Sanclimenti stirred the pot as he chose Michael Owen's daughter Gemma to pair up with, despite their eight-year age gap.

Two bombshells, Afia Tonkmor and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, also finally arrived at the villa to cause a little drama in the show.

However, how long will Love Island last? When will the final be airing?

This year's series started on Monday, June 6 and will last between six to eight weeks.

The date for the finale of Love Island 2022 hasn't yet been released, but it’s fair to assume that the eighth series will run for a similar amount of time to series seven.

The last series saw Millie Court and Liam Reardon winning after 58 days so it's safe to assume this year's show will last for a similar number of days.

It’s likely then that the latest series will run for around two months, meaning there’s a long way to go until we get to find out who will be crowned the king and queen of Love Island 2022.

We've got an entire summer's worth of sunshine and drama to look forward to before it ends for the year.

Many of the seasons have finished on a Monday, which means it is likely that this series will end on August 1.

The next episode, which airs tonight, might include a little drama after the two bombshells entered the villa.

In a new interview, Ekin-Su insists she's ready to tread on toes to get what she wants.

"I don’t care about treading on toes. Of course I am there to make friends too but realistically I’m not there to make seasonal girlfriends, I’m there to find the love of my life," she said.

"I need to find the man of my dreams so if there is another girl in the way, I don’t care. I’m quite fiery and passionate so if I want something, I don’t care what gets in the way."

The sentiment was echoed by Afia, who describes herself as "quite competitive".

Love Island airs every night on ITV2 at 9pm.
