A new series featuring comedy legend Catherine Tate (The Catherine Tate Show, Doctor Who, The Office US) is coming to Netflix. Set in a fictional women's prison, the show is a documentary-style comedy that sees the inmates rehearse for a performance at the behest of a new warden with some unconventional ideas.
Catherine Tate will be playing six characters in the series (Laura, Ross, Ange, Big Viv, Marco and Anne Marie) and is also listed as creator and director (alongside James Kayler). Other names set to star in the 6-part first series include Christian Brassington (Redemption, Easy Virtue), Donna Preston (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, The Hitman's Bodyguard) and Lorna Brown (Les Misérables, The Batman).
It's not the only thing that Catherine Tate has been working on recently. One of her most iconic characters, Nan, made a big-screen return in The Nan Movie earlier in the month (in which she performed alongside Gavin and Stacey star Mathew Horne).
