King Charles III coronation will soon take place.
The coronation will take place just four weeks shy of 70 years after his late mother was crowned. The event will form the centrepiece of days of celebration to mark the official beginning of the new king's reign.
The ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 6 at Westminster Abbey in London. The King will be crowned alongside Camilla, the Queen Consort.

A coronation is both the symbolic religious ceremony during which a sovereign is crowned and the physical act of placing a crown on a monarch's head. It formalises the monarch's role as the head of the Church of England and marks the transfer of their title and powers.
The first procession will begin on the morning of May 6. Their Majesties will travel in procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey, known as ‘The King’s Procession’.
They will then travel in the Diamond Jubilee State Coach, drawn by six Windsor Grey horses. The Household Cavalry will provide the Sovereign’s Escort.
The King’s Procession will travel along The Mall, through Admiralty Arch, passing to the south of the King Charles Island statue in Trafalgar Square before turning onto Whitehall. The procession will continue down Whitehall and along the east and south sides of Parliament Square, arriving at Westminster Abbey.
The Coronation service will begin at 11am at Westminster Abbey. After the Coronation service, the King and Queen Consort will return to Buckingham Palace as part of a larger ceremonial procession, known as ‘The Coronation Procession’. Their Majesties will travel in the Gold State Coach, drawn by eight Windsor Grey horses.
The procession will arrive at Buckingham Palace in the afternoon where Their Majesties will receive a salute from the United Kingdom and Commonwealth Armed Forces in the Buckingham Palace Gardens, and appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony. There will then be a ceremonial flypast.
There will also be an extra bank holiday across the UK on Monday, May 8. There will also be various events for the weekend, including a concert at Windsor Castle on Sunday, May 7, with acts including Katy Perry, Take That and Lionel Richie.
Pubs, clubs and bars across England and Wales are able to stay open for an extra two hours on the Friday and Saturday of the coronation weekend. People are also invited to hold street parties as a celebration.
