Holi is a festival of religious significance and holds importance in Hindu religion. It is celebrated nationwide with great enthusiasm and zeal. Holi signifies the eternal love bonding between Lord Krishna and Radha; their love is cited as divine love. It also celebrates the victory of good over evil by remembering the story of Lord Vishnu's Narasimha Narayana avatar and his victory over Hiranyakashipu.
Holi is also known as rangwali holi, dol purnima, dhuleti, dhulandi, ukuli, manjal kuli, yaoshang and phagwah. Different places in the country have their own version of holi celebration and hence their own way of naming this festival.
