Emma Raducanu faces a tough test as she kicks off her US Open campaign with a first-round match against Sofia Kenin.
The Briton has not won a match at Flushing Meadows since her remarkable run to the title in the summer of 2021, having missed the tournament last year due to injury.
The signs have been more promising for Raducanu in recent months after a strong grass court-season, lifting her to 72nd in the world rankings.
Raducanu skipped the Olympics to prioritise her fitness, before reaching the quarter-finals at the Washington Open earlier this month.
The 21-year-old faces former Australian Open champion Kenin in the opening round in New York, with sixth seed Jessica Pegula potentially waiting for the winner.
