Following the drama surrounding the cancellation of his fight against Conor Benn, Chris Eubank Jr will return to the ring this month to take on Liam Smith.
The Manchester fight between two former world champions is seen as a stepping stone for the victor to earn what could be a final world title shot of their careers. They will fight at middleweight in a contest seen as an opportunity for Eubank Jr to confirm his credentials as a contender within the division.
Smith, meanwhile, has spent the majority of his career at a lower weight and steps up to this level with the hopes of proving his worth as a potential contender within the division. 'Beefy' is expected to be well backed on the Boxxer card in Manchester, with his fans expected to make the short trip from Liverpool for the fight.
