After the Lionesses became the first senior England side to win a major trophy since 1966 there is much anticipation for the beginning of the 2022/23 Women's Super League season which will see the majority of the heroic winners performing for their respective clubs on a weekly basis.
All but three of the team ply their trades in the English domestic league, which has been known as the Women's Super League since 2011. Stars such as Leah Williamson and Beth Mead play for Arsenal, with Fran Kirby and Millie Bright starring for Chelsea, both sides are two of the leading sides in Europe and are set to enjoy an exciting season.
The league runs from September-May, with Chelsea defending their crown for what they hope will be the fourth successive season. As ever, they will face competition from Manchester City, Arsenal and now Manchester United with their host of England stars such as Alessia Russo set to make an impact.
