As the dust settles on Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl defeat of Philadelphia Eagles, attention turns to free agency in the NFL as big moves are lined up.
The free agency period, similar to the transfer window in football but for players not attached to a club, kicks off on March 15. That is the date when the 2023 League year kicks off and the free agency period begins officially at 4pm Eastern Time.
Player contracts expire and free agents can sign with teams after their release from other clubs. On March 15, teams must be under the 2023 salary cap and from two days before they are able to speak to and begin talks with players who are set to be free agents.
