When Brighton vs Man City Premier League game might take place

Man City's Premier League title aspirations have gathered pace in recent weeks.

Pep Guardiola's side have hit a rich vein of form, winning their last 10 matches in all competitions. It's not been enough to overhaul Arsenal at the top of the table but City are poised to strike as we approach the final weeks of the campaign.

The Gunners have surrendered two-goal leads in each of their last two fixtures, seeing six points become two. Mikel Arteta's side's advantage is down to four points and the two teams meet in a mammoth match-up at the Etihad later this month. That is City's next Premier League game with fixtures against Bayern Munich and Sheffield United to come before then, in the Champions League and FA Cup respectively.

Arsenal face Southampton in the league this weekend and could open up a seven-point advantage with a victory but City have a crucial game in hand which means the title is in the Blues' hands, even if Arsenal can claim the same. That extra game Guardiola's men face is a trip to Brighton & Hove Albion.

The date for the contest has yet to be confirmed but should be arranged in the coming days. City remain in the Champions League and are set to secure a spot in the semi-finals this week. They lead Bayern Munich 3-0 from the first leg in Manchester and should they complete the job, will face either Real Madrid or Chelsea in the last four.

Those matches are scheduled for weeks beginning May 8 and 15. With City already in top-flight action in the two midweeks before those European fixtures, it leaves just one possibility for the trip to Brighton - the week beginning May 22.

That comes in the final seven days of the Premier League season with City hosting Chelsea on the penultimate weekend before ending their campaign at Brentford on Sunday, May 28. Should Guardiola's men be on the wrong end of a Bayern comeback, the trip to the Amex could take place the week beginning May 15.

Brighton's Premier League game with Everton on May 8, makes slotting the fixture in that week unlikely. The Seagulls, who are potential FA Cup final opponents for City, have played a Premier League low of 28 games so far.
