Some changes could be made to bank holiday bin collections.
Residents are being urged to make a note of any changes that could occur to their bin collections as a result of the bank holidays. In May, there will be three bank holidays.
These will fall on May 1, for the Early May Bank Holiday and on May 29 for the Spring Bank Holiday. There will be an additional bank holiday held on May 8 for the coronation of King Charles.

Some councils in Merseyside have confirmed there will be no changes, but Knowsley Council is urging people to make a note of the new dates. Here are the bin collections in Merseyside:
Knowsley
Knowsley Council confirmed there will be some changes made to bin collections on the May Bank Holiday. If your bin is due to be collected on Monday, May 1, it will instead be emptied on Saturday, April 29.
Those being emptied on May 29, will instead be collected on Saturday, May 27. However, there will be no changes to waste collection on Monday, May 8 for the Coronation Bank Holiday.
Wirral
Wirral Council confirmed that all bins will be collected as usual. Their website states that:
- put your bins out at the kerbside by 7am on the day of collection with the wheels facing the road
- all rubbish must be in the bin and the lid must be closed. No additional waste will be collected
- the bin should not be too heavy
- after your collection bring your bin back onto your property as soon as possible
- incorrect items should not be in your bin.
Liverpool
Liverpool City Council confirmed all bins will be collected as normal. The website states: "We collect waste and recycling as normal on Bank Holidays. Please present your bins, bags or boxes on your regular collection day."
All bins and bags must be put out before 6.30am on your collection day and must be left on the kerbside with handles facing towards the road. All rubbish or recycling should be placed inside the bin with the lid closed.
