You might have heard about Hailey Bieber's cold therapy which was all over the social media a few months before. The American model had shared that cryotherapy or exposing the skin to extremely low temperature is a part of her health routine. Sounds exciting, right?
Whole Body Cryotherapy (WBC) involves exposing the body to extremely cold temperatures, typically between -80°C to -110°C (-166°F to -220°F), for a short duration, usually 2-4 minutes. This therapy, originally developed in Japan in the late 1970s to treat rheumatoid arthritis, has gained popularity for its purported benefits across various aspects of health and wellness. Japanese rheumatologist Toshima Yamaguchi started this trend and then it was introduced to Europe, US and Australia later.
