What to know from Colts’ first Week 16 injury report

The Indianapolis Colts released their first injury report of the week ahead of the Week 16 matchup with the Titans, and it includes a number of key starters who did not practice.

Let’s take a look at what you need to know:

– Mo Alie-Cox was among those who didn’t participate with a hip injury. He was added to the injury report last Friday with that same injury and was listed as questionable before playing on Sunday in Denver.

– Ashton Dulin remains out. He hasn’t practiced since suffering the ankle injury in Week 12 against Detroit. Alec Pierce entered concussion protocol on Monday and was still there as of Wednesday. His status for this week’s game is very much up in the air.

– Matt Gay is a new addition to the injury report with a neck injury. The one game he did miss this season came in Week 1 and that was due to a hernia injury. Although it was a rocky start to the season, Gay has settled in and been very steady. Laiatu Latu, meanwhile, missed Wednesday’s practice with an illness.

– EJ Speed was a non-participant due to a knee injury. He has been on the injury report a few times this season due to his knee and did miss the Colts’ Week 7 game against Miami.

– Michael Pittman was a non-participant because of his back. Until we see his practice status on Thursday and Friday, we won’t really know if his back injury has flared up or if this more so rest. He was a full participant in each practice last week.

– Cornerback JuJu Brents did practice after being designated to return from IR. He was a limited participant and I would guess there is going to be a ramp up period before he’s back to playing on Sundays.

– Jaylon Carlies and Ryan Kelly were both full participants. This is the second week of practice for each player after being designated to return from IR last week. Kelly told reporters before practice that there is a “high chance” he plays. Lastly, Tyquan Lewis (rib) was a full participant as well. He was added to last week’s injury report and was questionable versus Denver but did play.
